Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp strongly denied reports linking him to the Real Madrid job and angrily rebuked media speculation at a Magenta TV World Cup presentation in Munich on March 23-24, 2026.
Klopp, who left Liverpool at the end of the 2023-24 season and is now global head of soccer with Red Bull, said Real Madrid had “not called me once, not a single time,” and criticised outlets he described as spreading “nonsense”. Announced as a World Cup pundit for Germany’s Magenta TV, Klopp said he is not currently planning to return to a managerial role but stressed he is “not completely finished” as a coach.
The comments come amid renewed links to Liverpool and Germany and growing scrutiny of Arne Slot’s troubled second season at Anfield, which has fuelled speculation about potential high-profile vacancies.
Klopp’s public dismissal of the reports and his defence of his Red Bull role aimed to quell immediate transfer chatter while leaving open the possibility of a future return to coaching.
