Buckingham Palace confirmed on March 31 that King Charles III and Queen Camilla will undertake a state visit to the United States in late April, with U.S. officials saying the trip is scheduled for April 27-30 and will include a White House state banquet on April 28.
The visit â authorised âon advice of His Majestyâs Governmentâ and at President Donald Trumpâs invitation â will mark the Kingâs first state visit to the U.S. and coincide with the 250th anniversary of American independence; the King is also due to stop in Bermuda.
The announcement comes amid strained transatlantic relations over the ongoing U.S.-Israeli campaign against Iran: Mr.
Trump has publicly attacked U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and several European countries have restricted U.S. military flights, prompting calls from some British politicians and campaign groups to delay or cancel the trip.
The U.S. ambassador and the White House have signalled the King may address Congress.

Ro Khanna has separately urged the King to meet survivors of Jeffrey Epstein while in Washington, adding another sensitive diplomacy thread to the visit.
