📰 Full Story
Warner Bros. confirmed on April 14–15, 2026, that the first full‑length Game of Thrones feature film is being developed under the working title Game of Thrones: Aegon’s Conquest.
The announcement appeared on a slide during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas as part of its “2027 and beyond” slate.
Beau Willimon (House of Cards, Andor) is attached to write the screenplay.
The movie is expected to dramatize Aegon I Targaryen’s unification of Westeros — the central story from George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood — and is being positioned as a large‑scale, theatrical spectacle with dragons and epic battles.
No director, cast, production start date or definitive release schedule have been disclosed; reports describe the project as early in development and likely to take several years.
The film joins HBO and Warner Bros.’ expanding slate of Thrones‑verse projects, including the forthcoming third season of House of the Dragon and the renewed A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms series.
