📰 Full Story
Tottenham Hotspur were left in the Premier League relegation zone after Brighton & Hove Albion’s Georginio Rutter struck a stoppage-time equaliser to salvage a 2-2 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 18, 2026.
Pedro Porro opened the scoring in the 39th minute from a Xavi Simons cross, but Kaoru Mitoma levelled with a volley in first-half stoppage time.
Xavi Simons appeared to have won it with a superb 77th-minute strike in Roberto De Zerbi’s first home game in charge, only for Rutter to finish from close range in the fifth minute of added time.
The draw leaves Spurs 18th with 31 points from 33 games, winless in the league since December and facing five remaining fixtures that may require a perfect run to survive.
James Maddison returned to the bench after a long-term ACL layoff.
The result also delayed Wolverhampton Wanderers’ confirmation of relegation and maintained Brighton’s strong run of form.
