A 2011 essay by actor Ruby Rose describing a drunken night in Melbourne in which she said she vomited on Katy Perry’s foot has resurfaced amid Rose’s recent allegation that Perry sexually assaulted her at Spice Market nightclub in 2010.
The essay, published on news.com.au and widely circulated this week, framed the incident as part of Rose’s sobriety turning point and said “nothing horrific happened.” In social media posts this month Rose gave a far different account, alleging Perry pulled down her underwear and rubbed her genitals on Rose’s face.
Perry’s representatives have strongly denied the accusation, calling it “categorically false” and “dangerous, reckless lies.” Australian authorities are reported to be reviewing the matter.
The renewed attention has also revived past anecdotes from other celebrities — including an old Anna Kendrick interview and a 2019 allegation by model Josh Kloss — which have been circulated as part of a broader scrutiny of Perry’s conduct.
Media coverage intensified on April 18–19, 2026, as the essay and new claims went viral and police review was reported.
