Ryan Reynolds publicly praised his wife Blake Lively’s integrity as her lawsuit against director and co-star Justin Baldoni moves toward a New York trial on May 18.
Speaking on Today’s Sunday Sitdown on April 19, Reynolds said he had “never in my life been more proud” of Lively and contrasted “digital life versus real life,” noting the family has endured intense public scrutiny.
Lively filed suit in December 2024 alleging sexual harassment and a coordinated smear campaign; she is seeking more than $160 million in damages.
A judge in early April dismissed 10 of 13 claims, leaving counts over alleged retaliation, breach of contract and aiding and abetting retaliation to proceed.
Baldoni denies the allegations; he filed a countersuit that was later dismissed.
Both principals are expected to testify and Reynolds has been called as a witness.
Unsealed messages and statements from representatives have highlighted Reynolds’s support during production and the dispute.
Sources quoted in coverage say the legal battle has been emotionally taxing for Lively and the couple have sought to balance family life amid intense media coverage.
