Baroness Karren Brady has stepped down as vice-chair of Premier League club West Ham United after 16 years, the club said on April 21.
The 57-year-old, who joined the board in January 2010, told The Times she began considering the decision in January and informed colleagues in mid-February, formally leaving on April 15.
Brady â a prominent figure in English football and a member of the House of Lords â will refocus on other business interests, mentoring and parliamentary duties.
Her tenure saw major corporate milestones: she led negotiations for West Hamâs controversial move from Upton Park to the London Stadium in 2016, helped broker the British-record transfer of Declan Rice (ÂŁ105m) and was part of the leadership during the clubâs run to the 2021-22 Europa League semi-finals and the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League triumph.
Her exit comes amid fan protests over performance and finances, with West Ham sitting two points above the relegation zone with five matches left and reporting a ÂŁ104.2m pre-tax loss for the year to May 31, 2025.
West Ham also confirmed executive director Nathan Thompson had stepped down with immediate effect.
