📰 Full Story
The Denver Nuggets downplayed Minnesota Timberwolves wing Jaden McDaniels’ post-Game 2 barbs after the Wolves’ 119-114 win in Denver that evened the first-round series 1-1.
McDaniels singled out several Nuggets — naming Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Cam Johnson — saying “they're all bad defenders” and urging opponents to attack them.
Denver coach David Adelman dismissed the remarks at practice, quipping “I can’t wait for his podcast,” while veterans Cam Johnson and Christian Braun said they weren’t entertaining the antics.
Adelman and staff pointed to rebounding lapses in Game 2 — Minnesota outscored Denver 20-3 on second-chance points — as the primary issue to fix, and noted Denver’s playoff defensive rating sits at about 109 through two games (sixth best among remaining teams), despite a 116 regular-season rating (21st). Denver is also managing the absence of perimeter defender Peyton Watson (hamstring), reducing defensive depth as the series shifts to Minneapolis for Game 3 on Thursday.
