📰 Full Story
Penguin Random House’s Random House Worlds imprint will publish Baldur’s Gate 3: Astarion, a prequel novel by fantasy author T. Kingfisher, in September 2026, with the audiobook narrated by Astarion actor Neil Newbon.
The book follows the high-elf vampire’s years as a slave to the vampire lord Cazador Szarr and was developed with consultation from Baldur’s Gate 3 senior writer Stephen Rooney to align with game lore.
Publisher schedules released in April 2026 place the novel amid a broader Baldur’s Gate 3 publishing programme that includes a Necromancy of Thay notebook (reported July 21), an official coloring book (reported August 11) and A Feast for a Tenday cookbook (reported November 3), with additional titles planned into 2027.
Reports note the book’s dark, abusive backstory and content warnings.
Larian Studios, developer of the game, is not directly involved in the publishing projects, according to updated coverage.
