John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc. has voluntarily recalled multiple snack mixes sold under the Good & Gather (Target), Fisher, Southern Style Nuts and Squirrel Brand labels after a seasoning used in production was linked to dry milk powder previously recalled by supplier California Dairies.
The company announced the recall in early May and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration posted details May 6.
Affected items include Good & Gather Mexican Street Corn Trail Mix (8 oz, lot 6082GY5D, best-by March 23, 2027) and various Fisher, Southern Style Nuts and Squirrel Brand trail and nut mixes with best-by dates through 2027; products were distributed nationwide in retail stores, online and via QVC. The seasoning batches tested negative for Salmonella before use, but the recall was issued as a precaution.
No illnesses have been reported.
Consumers are urged not to eat the products and to return them to the place of purchase for a refund or discard them.
Those with concerns can contact John B. Sanfilippo & Son customer service for guidance; the FDA warns people at higher risk of severe infection to be especially careful.
