Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios have officially announced Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2, due to launch in summer 2026 for PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The sequel expands the original three-player cooperative shooter to four-player co-op, adds deeper squad mechanics, wider customizationâincluding a fully customisable Specialist endgame classâfive distinct classes, new weapons and abilities, an updated horde mode and âdeadlier threats.â The game will support cross-platform play with in-game voice chat.
Developers positioned the release as part of 20th Century Gamesâ celebration of the 40th anniversary of Aliens, after details first surfaced in a leaked 2024 pitch deck that had suggested an earlier timeframe.
The reveal trailer shown in early May mixes cinematic sequences with gameplay footage and emphasises tactical teamwork and survival against Xenomorph swarms.
The original Aliens: Fireteam Elite (2021) remains available across platforms and on subscription services such as Xbox Game Pass, offering a launch base of players ahead of the sequel.
