Mazda has introduced a new paint option, Zinc Green Metallic, for the 2027 MX-5 (ND) generation, marking the first time the current ND Miata will be offered in a green hue.
The color made its debut at the Karuizawa Fan Meeting in Japan on June 1, 2026.
Mazda says Zinc Green was developed as a “lifestyle” global color that plays with light — showing a vibrant, green-leaning appearance in bright sunlight and a more subdued, grayish, almost matte look in lower light — and was styled to be complementary across models from the MX-5 to crossovers such as the CX-5 and CX-90.
The company ties the shade to its heritage of green finishes, from early three-wheelers to the 787B Le Mans livery and past consumer hues like Spirited Green.
Mazda has not released pricing; it says availability for the U.S. and other markets will be announced later in 2026.
Automotive outlets noted that the new finish leans toward gray in photos and may disappoint enthusiasts seeking a bold, traditional green.
