Mick Jagger said he “can’t wait” to take the Rolling Stones back on the road, though he cautioned a tour is unlikely this year.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2 alongside Ronnie Wood, the 82-year-old frontman said the band hopes to tour “as soon as possible” after scrapping previously discussed 2026 U.K. and European stadium dates.
The Stones are preparing to release their 25th studio album, Foreign Tongues, on July 10, recorded rapidly at Metropolis Studios in West London with producer Andrew Watt.
The record features guest appearances from Paul McCartney, Robert Smith, Chad Smith and Steve Winwood, and includes contributions from the late Charlie Watts.
The band last toured in 2024 to support Hackney Diamonds.
Reports last year said logistical issues and commitments — and questions over Keith Richards’ availability — prompted postponement of a planned 2026 run; Richards has since suggested a possible return in the future.
Ronnie Wood has meanwhile launched a solo tour in Europe, marking his first solo circuit in over 16 years.
