Pop star Sabrina Carpenter has been granted a temporary restraining order after a series of alleged stalking incidents at her Los Angeles home.
Court filings say 31âyearâold William Applegate appeared uninvited at Carpenterâs Hollywood Hills residence multiple times beginning around April 20, 2026, and on May 23 allegedly trespassed onto a neighbourâs property, tried to force open her front door and refused to leave until police arrived.
Carpenter submitted Ring camera images and a signed declaration saying the behaviour caused her âsevere and ongoing emotional distressâ and left her fearing for her safety.
A Los Angeles police detective supporting the petition described Applegate as having developed a âdisturbing and irrational fixation.â The temporary order, granted June 1, bars Applegate from coming within 100 yards of Carpenter, her home, workplace, vehicle and two residents of the property â her sister and the sisterâs partner.
Applegate was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor trespassing; criminal charges are under review and a followâup civil hearing is scheduled for midâJune.
