Kirsten Dunst has been cast alongside Sydney Sweeney in Lionsgate’s The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to the 2025 psychological thriller The Housemaid, which grossed nearly $400 million worldwide.
The film is based on Freida McFadden’s second Housemaid novel and continues the story of Millie Calloway, played by Sweeney, as she takes a new job in a wealthy household and uncovers dangerous secrets behind a locked door.
Lionsgate said Dunst will play Mrs.
Wendy Garrick, the reclusive employer at the center of the new mystery.
Paul Feig is returning to direct, with Rebecca Sonnenshine back to adapt the screenplay.
Michele Morrone will reprise his role as Enzo.
Lionsgate confirmed the project on March 23, with production expected to begin later in 2026 and no release date yet announced.
The casting comes as Dunst remains in demand, having recently signed on for the sequel to A Minecraft Movie and Ruben Östlund’s The Entertainment System Is Down.
