Florida Governor Ron DeSantis on March 30 signed legislation to rename Palm Beach International Airport the "President Donald J. Trump International Airport," a change set to take effect July 1 pending administrative processing by the Federal Aviation Administration.
The law â passed by the state House (81-30) and Senate (25-11) â requires Palm Beach County be granted perpetual, unrestricted rights to use the new name; critics estimate rebranding costs at roughly $5 million.
An entity linked to the Trump Organization filed a trademark application for the airport name in February and a separate proposal has been floated to change the airport code from PBI to DJT. On the same day, President Trump and his son Eric released video renderings of a proposed Donald J. Trump Presidential Library in downtown Miami: a soaring glass skyscraper credited to Bermello Ajamil & Partners, featuring a displayed presidential jet, replicas of the Oval Office and planned White House ballroom, gold escalators and large Trump signage.
The library foundation controls a roughly 2.6â3 acre waterfront parcel that sparked legal and political fights in 2025; Democrats and ethics critics have raised questions about funding, donor transparency and the promotional, spectacle-driven design.
