Former First Lady Jill Biden attempted to secure a walk-on role in the hit queer hockey drama Heated Rivalry during the NYC LGBT Community Center’s annual Center Dinner in New York City on April 16, 2026, but was outbid.
Biden placed a $35,000 live-auction bid for a package that included a cameo and dinner with the cast; two other attendees won identical packages by bidding $125,000 each, bringing that lot’s proceeds to $250,000.
The evening raised more than $2 million in total for the Center’s programs.
The event honored creator Jacob Tierney and executive producer Brendan Brady with a Cultural Impact Award; the series, adapted from Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books, is distributed in the U.S. by HBO Max and Crave in Canada.
Season 2 is due to begin production this summer with an expected premiere in April 2027.
Biden posted on X that she “won’t be heading to the cottage after all” but called the night “worth a shot,” emphasizing the fundraising purpose of the bid.
