MANCHESTER, April 19 (Reuters) - Erling Haaland ended a Premier League scoring drought to score the decisive goal as Manchester City beat leaders Arsenal 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, tightening one of the seasonâs most gripping title races.
Rayan Cherki put City ahead in the 16th minute with a solo run before an error by City keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma allowed Kai Havertz to level almost immediately.
Haalandâs low finish from Nico OâReillyâs cross in the 65th minute â his 23rd league goal of the campaign and his first since February â proved decisive.
The win moves City to 67 points from 32 games, three behind Arsenal, who remain on 70 from 33 but now without momentum.
City can overtake Arsenal with a win in a midweek game in hand at Burnley.
The result came alongside late wins for Liverpool and Aston Villa and a Morgan GibbsâWhite hatâtrick for Nottingham Forest, outcomes that further reshuffle European qualification and relegation permutations as the season enters its final weeks.
