Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed midfielder Rodri was withdrawn late in Sunday’s 2-1 Premier League victory over Arsenal with what is believed to be a groin problem and will undergo further tests.
Guardiola said medical checks would be carried out overnight or the following morning and that he did not yet know how long Rodri might be sidelined.
The result cut Arsenal’s lead to three points with City holding a game in hand, keeping the title race alive as fixtures come thick and fast.
The win at the Etihad included a strike from Erling Haaland and leaves City preparing for a midweek trip to Turf Moor to face Burnley.
Rodri has struggled with fitness this season and has missed extended periods previously, making his availability for the run-in an obvious concern for Guardiola as City juggle championship ambitions and a congested schedule.
