The NBA announced finalists for its 2025-26 regular-season awards during the April 19-20 broadcast window, headlined by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City), Nikola Jokic (Denver) and Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio) as the three finalists for Most Valuable Player.
Gilgeous-Alexander, the reigning MVP, averaged 31.1 points and 6.6 assists; Jokic, a three-time winner, posted 27.7 points, 12.9 rebounds and 10.7 assists; Wembanyama averaged roughly 25 points and 11.5 rebounds and is also a Defensive Player of the Year finalist.
DPOY finalists are Wembanyama, Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City) and Ausar Thompson (Detroit). Other notable finalist groups include Rookie of the Year (V.J. Edgecombe, Cooper Flagg, Kon Knueppel), Coach of the Year (J.B. Bickerstaff, Mitch Johnson, Joe Mazzulla), Clutch Player (Gilgeous-Alexander, Anthony Edwards, Jamal Murray), Sixth Man (Tim Hardaway Jr., Jaime Jaquez Jr., Keldon Johnson) and Most Improved (Deni Avdija, Jalen Duren, Nickeil Alexander-Walker). The league said winners will be revealed across the coming week, with the Defensive Player award and other honors to be announced on the leagueâs broadcast and Peacock schedule.
