Zac Lomax scored a try, created scoring chances and showed dominant aerial ability in his first Super Rugby Pacific start as the Western Force stunned reigning champions the Crusaders 31-26 in Perth on April 18-19, 2026.
The 26-year-old, who switched mid-season from the NRL, played about 58â59 minutes, setting up a Henry Robertson try and finishing one himself before being removed as part of load management.
Lomax produced several eye-catching plays but also made errors â notably two turnovers after attempting offloads on high-ball receptions â that led to opposition scoring.
The Force rallied from a 19-point deficit to claim the win, their third of the season, lifting spirits at HBF Park and preserving slim finals hopes with five regular-season matches remaining.
Coach Simon Cron praised Lomaxâs aerial skill and adaptability while noting the player is still learning positional defence and the nuances of rugby league-to-rugby union transition.
The performance has renewed discussion about his longer-term prospects in Super Rugby and potential Wallabies consideration should his form continue to improve.
