Patrick Muldoon, the American actor best known for his roles on the soap opera Days of Our Lives and the 1997 film Starship Troopers, died on April 19 at his Beverly Hills home.
He was 57.
Muldoonâs manager and family members, including his sister Shana Muldoon Zappa, confirmed the death; media reports and family statements cited a sudden heart attack as the cause.
Muldoon rose to prominence as Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives in the early 1990s and later played Richard Hart on Melrose Place.
He also appeared in more than 50 films and worked as a producer on titles including The Card Counter and Marlowe.
Muldoon was credited as an executive producer on the film Kockroach, which began filming in Australia this month, and is due to appear in the thriller Dirty Hands, scheduled for release April 24.
He is survived by his partner Miriam Rothbart, his parents Deanna and Patrick Muldoon Sr., his sister Shana and her family, and other relatives.
Colleagues including Alison Sweeney, Dina Meyer and Lisa Rinna paid public tribute.
