April 21, 2026 — Jordan Martinook scored at 13:53 of the second overtime to give the Carolina Hurricanes a 3-2 victory over the Ottawa Senators in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first-round series at Raleigh, N.C., handing Carolina a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven.
Logan Stankoven and Sebastian Aho also scored for the top-seeded Hurricanes; Frederik Andersen made 36 saves.
Drake Batherson and Dylan Cozens tallied for Ottawa, and Linus Ullmark was outstanding with 43 saves in the loss.
The game featured a dramatic sequence in the first overtime when Mark Jankowski’s apparent winner was overturned on an offside review, a ruling that led to a penalty shot for Martinook that Ullmark stopped.
Martinook later converted the game-winner after chasing a loose puck and finishing a feed from Nikolaj Ehlers.
Ottawa played Game 2 without defenceman Artem Zub, who was sidelined by an undisclosed injury after leaving Game 1.
The series now shifts to Ottawa for Game 3 on Thursday night.
