Actors Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni announced a settlement on May 4, 2026, ending a widely publicised legal battle tied to the film It Ends With Us that had been scheduled for trial on May 18.
Lively sued in December 2024 alleging sexual harassment, retaliation and a smear campaign; many claims were dismissed but retaliation and breach of contract were allowed to proceed.
Multiple outlets reported no money changed hands in the confidential agreement, though Lively still has a pending motion for attorneysâ fees and damages related to Baldoniâs dismissed defamation suit.
The parties issued a joint statement saying the film is a source of pride and that âconcerns raised by Ms.
Lively deserved to be heard.â The settlement announcement coincided with Livelyâs return to the Met Gala, where she appeared on the red carpet hours after the deal.
Earlier disclosures in discovery reportedly showed brands including Kroger, Princess Cruises and Brightline hesitated to partner with Lively during the filmâs press run, citing reputational risk.
The case produced extensive media coverage and unsealed communications that fuelled public debate about on-set conduct and celebrity reputation.
