Discord on Monday launched Nitro Rewards, a new benefits program that bundles third‑party perks — most notably a ‘starter edition’ of Xbox Game Pass — into its paid Nitro subscription at no extra cost.
The Game Pass starter edition offers access to a rotating library of 50+ console and PC titles (examples include Fallout 4, Stardew Valley, DayZ and Grounded), roughly 10 hours of cloud streaming per month and the ability to earn Xbox Store rewards.
Discord said Nitro’s price remains unchanged ($9.99/month or $100/year) and that the new rewards, which also include discounts at Logitech G (up to 30%), SteelSeries (15%) and KontrolFreek (20%) and monthly Orb bonuses, will roll out to eligible Nitro members over the coming weeks.
Microsoft will reciprocate by extending selected Discord perks — such as 250 Orbs monthly and extra Orb multipliers — to Game Pass subscribers.
The changes arrive as Discord seeks to shore up paid membership after earlier subscriber losses tied to a controversial age‑verification plan; Microsoft has also recently adjusted Game Pass pricing and content policies.
