An arbitrator has ruled that NBA guard Terry Rozier breached his contract and must forfeit most of his $26.6 million 2025-26 salary after finding bond conditions tied to a federal gambling probe prevented him from fulfilling services.
The decision, disclosed in court filings on June 3, 2026, follows an earlier arbitrator ruling that had ordered the league to pay Rozier while he was on unpaid administrative leave after his October 2025 arrest.
Rozier, 32, has pleaded not guilty to charges including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, money laundering, sports bribery and honest services fraud; prosecutors say he accepted a $100,000 payment to exit a March 2023 Hornets game early to benefit bettors.
His lawyers have asked a Brooklyn judge to lift a no-contact restriction with the Charlotte Hornets â retained while prosecutors removed a similar bar for the Miami Heat â arguing the condition blocks his ability to pursue NBA opportunities ahead of free agency beginning June 30.
Rozier and co-defendants are due back in federal court in Brooklyn on June 10 for further proceedings and arraignment on new charges.
