Dayton James Webber, 27, a professional cornhole player and quadruple amputee, was arrested in Virginia and faces first- and second-degree murder charges after authorities say a front-seat passenger, 27-year-old Bradrick Michael Wells, was shot dead during an argument on March 22 in La Plata, Maryland.
Two back-seat passengers flagged down police and told investigators they had witnessed the shooting; they declined to help remove the victim when Webber allegedly asked.
The victimâs body was found about two hours later in a yard in nearby Charlotte Hall.
Detectives obtained a warrant, traced Webberâs vehicle to Charlottesville and took him into custody at a hospital where he was seeking treatment.
Webber â who rose to prominence as the first quadruple amputee to compete professionally in the American Cornhole League and was profiled by ESPN â has posted videos online showing adapted techniques for handling firearms, which have been cited by authorities while investigations continue.
The Charles County Sheriffâs Office says the probe remains active and Webber is awaiting extradition to Maryland.

The discussion adds two potentially important details: witnesses in the car refused to help dispose of the body and may be key at trial, and an earlier video allegedly showing Webber firing a gun could matter as evidence. Beyond that, comments mostly clarify the unusual cornhole reference and note that disability alone would not prevent such actions.
