Paramount and Activision confirmed at CinemaCon on April 16, 2026 that a live‑action Call of Duty feature will open in U.S. theaters on June 30, 2028.
Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) is co‑writing the screenplay with Peter Berg, who will direct and also co‑write; both are serving as producers alongside Activision president Rob Kostich and David Glasser.
The studio screened a sizzle reel and said the film is being positioned to satisfy the franchise’s massive global fan base while expanding its audience.
Paramount indicated it plans an extended theatrical window for the title (industry attendees referenced a roughly 45‑day window). Plot, cast and further production details were not disclosed.
Call of Duty remains one of gaming’s largest franchises, with hundreds of millions of players and multibillion‑dollar lifetime revenue, making the movie a high‑profile tentpole for Paramount’s franchise strategy.
