Writer-director Luna Carmoon has wrapped principal photography on her second feature, To Make Ends Meat, in London in April 2026.
The drama stars Naomi Ackie, Alison Oliver, Éanna Hardwicke and Armande Boulanger and follows three women entangled in debt to violent men who resort to consumption and retaliation to survive.
Financing comes from BBC Film, the BFI (with National Lottery funding), True Brit, Goodfellas, Mother, ProdCo, Arts Alliance, Affine Films, Cofiloisirs and Blush Film.
Hélène Louvart is director of photography; producers include Helen Simmons and Loran Dunn, with Goodfellas handling international sales.
The film will be launched at the Cannes market, and True Brit has taken U.K. and Ireland distribution rights.
Carmoon’s debut Hoard premiered at Venice Critics’ Week in 2023, won multiple prizes and led to a 2025 BAFTA nomination for outstanding British debut, positioning her as a notable emerging voice in British cinema.
