FX confirmed on May 6 that the Emmy‑winning series The Bear will end with its fifth season, which will premiere on June 25, 2026.
All eight episodes will be dropped on Hulu at 9 p.m.
ET on the premiere date, with FX airing the first two episodes on cable and then rolling out weekly instalments through early August.
The final season picks up after Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) walks away from the restaurant, leaving Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie (Ebon Moss‑Bachrach) and Natalie “Sugar” (Abby Elliott) to save the business as they chase a Michelin star amid financial strain and a storm.
FX released a surprise standalone prequel episode titled “Gary” on May 5–6 — co‑written by Ebon Moss‑Bachrach and Jon Bernthal and directed by creator Christopher Storer — that revisits Richie and Mikey on a road trip to Gary, Indiana.
The series, lauded for its dark comedy and portrayals of trauma, has earned multiple Emmys and Golden Globes and will stream internationally on Disney+.
