Netflix released Season 2 of its Emmy-winning dark comedy Beef on April 16, 2026, transforming the 2023 limited series into an anthology.
Creator Lee Sung Jin (Sonny Lee) shifts the action to a Montecito country club and splits the drama between two couples: millennial club manager Josh and interior designer Lindsay (Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan) and Gen Z employees Austin and Ashley (Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny). The eight-episode run expands the show’s scope with a subplot that reaches Seoul and features Youn Yuh-jung as billionaire Chairwoman Park and Song Kang-ho as Dr.
Kim.
The season — inspired by a real overheard argument Lee said sparked the story — mixes black comedy, social satire and thriller beats, culminating in an action-heavy finale set partly in South Korea.
Critics generally praised performances, particularly Isaac and Mulligan, and technical craft (with a score contribution and cameo by Finneas), while some reviews called the season overstuffed and compared its anthology, star-driven format to The White Lotus.
Season 1’s awards pedigree and the new high-profile cast position Beef 2 as a marquee Netflix release aimed at retaining subscribers and generating awards-season attention.
