Bournemouth announced on April 20, 2026 that German coach Marco Rose will take over as head coach on a three-year contract following the conclusion of the 2025/26 season, succeeding Andoni Iraola who will leave when his deal expires.
The 49-year-old, out of work since being sacked by RB Leipzig in March 2025, brings Champions League and Europa League experience from spells with Red Bull Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
Rose won two Austrian Bundesliga titles with Salzburg and the DFB-Pokal with Leipzig in 2023 and is credited with developing players such as Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham and Dominik Szoboszlai.
Bournemouth sit eighth in the Premier League amid a 13-game unbeaten run and are level on points with sixth-placed Chelsea, putting them in contention for European qualification for the first time in the clubâs history.
The club said its immediate focus remains on finishing the current campaign strongly as Rose prepares to arrive on the south coast this summer.
