Actor Shia LaBeouf on June 3, 2026 pleaded guilty to three counts of simple (misdemeanor) battery over a February 17 altercation outside a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras.
Magistrate Judge Juana Marine-Lombard sentenced him to a six-month suspended jail term and two years' probation and ordered him to attend alcohol rehabilitation, sensitivity training and anger-management classes; he was also instructed to stay away from the three victims and the bar.
Video from the incident shows a shirtless LaBeouf shoving a man to the pavement and striking another, with police reporting a punch that âpossibly dislocatedâ a victimâs nose.
One alleged victim, local entertainer Jeffrey Damnit (Jeffrey Klein), said LaBeouf shouted homophobic slurs during the encounter; prosecutors did not pursue enhanced bias charges.
LaBeouf had previously been ordered into substance-abuse treatment after his arrest and posted bond.
His attorney framed the episode as a âminor Mardi Gras bar tussleâ and said he is seeking to focus on family and new projects.
The case adds to a record of past legal and behavioral incidents involving the actor.
