📰 Full Story
A day after OpenAI restructured its cloud relationship with Microsoft, Amazon Web Services announced on April 29, 2026 that OpenAI’s leading models and tools are now available on AWS Bedrock in a limited preview.
AWS said GPT-5.4 is available immediately in preview, with GPT-5.5 arriving shortly, and that OpenAI’s Codex coding agent and new agentic tooling will be supported through Bedrock Managed Agents and AgentCore.
Amazon also unveiled client-facing products including Amazon Quick and expanded Connect applications for hiring, healthcare and supply chain tasks.
The tie-up follows Amazon’s earlier $50 billion investment in OpenAI and reported commitments for OpenAI to consume large Trainium capacity on AWS (roughly 2GW), with some outlets citing an extended multi-year commercial framework and revenue-sharing terms.
AWS stressed enterprise controls — IAM, private networking, encryption and CloudTrail logging — will be available for customers using OpenAI models on Bedrock.
Access is in limited preview and broader availability is expected in the coming weeks, per AWS statements.
