Sony’s June 2–3 State of Play livestream rolled out more than an hour of reveals and release-date pushes, led by extended gameplay for Insomniac’s Marvel’s Wolverine (due Sept. 15, 2026) and a major debut for Santa Monica Studio’s next mainline God of War, subtitled Laufey (no release date). The showcase included new first-party and third‑party single‑player titles and remakes: Rayman Legends Retold (Oct. 1), Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (delayed to Feb. 12, 2027), Control: Resonant (Sept. 24), Silent Hill: Townfall (Sept. 24), Onimusha: Way of the Sword (Sept. 25), Ace Combat 8 (Oct. 2) and Dune: Awakening’s PS5 port (Sept. 22). New IPs and reveals included Stuntman: Hollywood, Kemuri (2027), Bancho the Chef (Dave the Diver prequel), The Lost Wild (2027) and Until Dawn 2 (2027). Several September–October release windows were clustered well ahead of GTA 6’s Nov. 16 launch.
The presentation reinforced a tilt toward premium, narrative single‑player games amid Sony’s earlier live‑service setbacks, while delivering a packed fall slate for the PlayStation 5.
