British alt‑rock band Marmozets have announced CO.WAR.DICE., their first album since 2018’s Knowing What You Know Now, set for release on May 22 via Nettwerk Music Group.
The Yorkshire group released the New Wave‑tinged single “New York,” inspired by memories of an early trip to the United States that the band say helped spark their reunion.
CO.WAR.DICE. was produced by Andy Hawkins and Jonathan Gilmore (credits include Biffy Clyro and The 1975) and features previously heard tracks such as “A Kiss from a Mother,” “You Want the Truth” and the new single “New York.” Members include singer Becca Bottomley (née Macintyre), guitarist Jack Bottomley and siblings Sam and Josh McIntyre; original member Will Bottomley has amicably departed.
The band say time away for parenthood, COVID and day jobs gave way to renewed creativity and a focus on family and togetherness, while the album aims to blend punk energy with broader, older influences drawn from vinyl and artists such as DEVO and The Cramps.
