PUBG: Blindspot, a free-to-play top-down 5v5 tactical shooter from ARC Team and publisher Krafton, will shut down its early access service on March 30, the developers announced.
The game launched in early access on Feb. 4 and will be removed from Steam at 5 a.m.
ET on March 30, meaning it was available for roughly seven to eight weeks.
ARC Team lead Sequoia Yang said the studio explored multiple ways to improve the experience but concluded it could not āsustainably provide the level of experienceā promised through early access.
Blindspot struggled to build a stable player base; SteamDB data cited by outlets showed a launch peak of about 3,251 concurrent players and 24-hour peaks that later sank into the low hundreds, producing long match wait times and poor matchmaking.
The shutdown follows a string of high-profile live-service flops this year and comes amid wider scrutiny of Krafton, the South Koreaābased publisher, which is pursuing an āAI-firstā strategy and recently faced legal disputes over studio leadership.
